Used bookstore & bindery · Pike Street, Canonsburg, Pennsylvania · Veteran-owned · Mom & Pop
Two floors of stories. One workshop that saves them.
We're an independent used bookstore and bookbindery in a historic building in downtown Canonsburg. We have about 10,000 titles at present, including many categories of fiction and non-fiction across two floors: children's, young adult and teen, antique and vintage, historical fiction, sci-fi and fantasy, history, biography, politics, cookbooks. We also do book repair, restoration, and rebinding in our basement bindery, and host book clubs, local author events, and a summer book camp for kids.
Thomas Lynne Craftworks
About us
Thomas Lynne Craftworks (TLC) is a partnership formed in 2023, starting out as a bookbindery and arts & crafts endeavor. Thomas and Lynne are the partners. In November of that year, at a Chamber of Commerce meeting, we were asked if we were interested in opening a used bookstore. Of course, that was a loud “yes.” We opened the store in May 2024.
All About Books is a Mom and Pop operation, and a veteran-owned business. We're a proud member of the Greater Canonsburg Chamber of Commerce (GCCC) and the Downtown Canonsburg Merchants Association (DCMA).
The workshop
The Bindery
This is the part of the business you won't find at a chain-store: a bindery where books are repaired, restored and rebound. We handle all kinds of books, from very old family Bibles — the oldest we've worked on so far was published in 1540 — to various vintage and antique books to modern books.
Thomas does the work on the books, and does various hand-painted works like lampshades, leather bookmarks, stone and tile paperweights, and notebooks covered in leather.
You can bring a book in during store hours for assessment, or email us with pertinent photos and a description first, along with what you'd like to have done with the book.
To help get a quick and most-helpful response to an email, include: photos of the front, back and spine; photos of damaged areas; the book's measurements (just length and width); and your goal for the book: reading, display, preservation for family, or sale.

On the calendar
Author talks, book clubs, kids' camps
We host local author events (usually several per month), book clubs, various events and gatherings (baby showers, birthdays, senior photos), and fill summer weeks with book camp for kids.
We also participate in monthly events like the Thursday Night Markets during the summer, and large annual events like the Fourth of July Parade (second largest in the state after Philadelphia), the Bavarian Oktoberfest in September, and Old-Fashioned Christmas in early December.
Every event is posted first on our Facebook page, or ask at the counter next time you're in.
